review 1: Although I gave this book 4 stars, I must explain why I did not give it 5. This was a book in my opinion that adults would enjoy quite a bit more than children-this a 4/5. This past winter, I watched Starz presentation of the White Queen and was excited that this book presented a somewhat different perspective of history. This novel would be great to pair with small parts of the Starz series for older students!
review 2: I'm not sure how I feel about this book. Sometimes I really liked it. Other times, I thought it had too much symbolism or didn't make sense. Cecily as a character was irritating to the point where I didn't enjoy the book sometimes. But I didn't entirely dislike it either. Like the characters in the book, I found myself captivated by Uncle Pereg... morerine's story and wanted to hear more of it. Not one of my favorite books. less
