review 1: although I enjoy Sophie Hannah's books very much, this one was not up to the level of the previous ones I have read. The character development was a bit flat in my opinion. A woman, Louise, is being haunted. She continuously hears music when she is sleeping. Sometimes it's the neighbors, but other times she is the only one who can hear it. What does that mean? The end tells you, but I was able to predict it so it wasn't all that I'd hoped it would be.
review 2: Weird and pointless. Had I not already read several of Sophie Hannah's books, I would not bother reading any more after this ridiculous story, 'The Orphan Choir'. I have never written a review before that contains 'spoilers' but I feel this is the exception. Save yourself the expense and time of reading
... more this - it's about an oddly paranoid (and quite frankly, spoiled, undeserving human being) who starts seeing ghosts and ends up taking her own life. Utterly ridiculous. Nothing scary about it, just banal. less

I love this author but found this book slightly disappointing-not as full of suspense as her others.

Superior stand alone novel, much better than the Spilling series.
