review 1: This was an excellent book. I loved all the characters and loved the way they all banded together. I liked seeing how the different groups handled the blackout in different ways, When the kids started school it was amazing to see their perspective on the changes they were dealing with. Some of them seemed more mature than the adults.I also liked the people that took Gary in too.It seems hard to imagine this happening but it could and it was interesting watching the way we dealt with it in this book.
review 2: This story started off rough. The writing was very amateurish, the story-line flowed as if written by a child. Several times I debated kicking it to the curb, but I always try to finish what I start and this story wasn't going to be the exception. A third
... moreof the way into the story, the writing improved slightly and the story picked up a little steam. Still, if you're looking for a post-apocalyptic story based on hard science and want characters that are well developed, you might consider passing this one by. It has no real depth or believability, but if you're looking for a light read bordering on whimsy imagination with a yearning for childish adventure, maybe this is just the story for you. less

Portions of it were good, but overall it seemed a bit elementary to me.
