review 1: This was an interesting novel. The characters were okay. Again, there was a disconnect at first with most of them until I got to know them better in the later characters.Of course we are dealing with a somewhat new cast of characters and seeing old ones too. There’s some sad news in this book, and there is a great deal of mystery in this one. Usually there’s a great deal of action and fighting, but mostly this book was suspense filled. You have an idea who is behind everything, but we have no clue who is carrying it all out, so it’s a little spooky and filled with moments of what the heck and why the heck. Then when you get to the end, through the action, and find out who it is, you’re a little flabbergasted, or at least I was. I was like, “no way.” I w... moreas a little ticked too, but all’s well that ends well. This turned out to be a pretty darn good novel after all; I’m glad I stuck it out and read it.
review 2: This book just feels like it's trying too hard some how. Shades of Brockmann's Troubleshooter's series, but without the emotional depths, humor and wit she brings to her writing. Way too many emotionally cliched statements and the dialog seemed really rushed and over the top at times. I feel like the author took on subject matter she didn't research much to lend any authentiicity to it. GREAT concept though and I've read worse, for sure. I just feel like it doesn't live up to it's potential. less

Good strong heroine, but the male characters came off as a bit interchangeable. Some nice action.
