review 1: I found this book in a bargain book shop, and the back cover blurb really hooked me. I don't know that I've ever heard of a more random story, but it really works. This books is raw, hilarious, action-packed, and a breath of fresh air in a genre of dust and decadence. It felt noir and conversational at the same time, which is quite a feat. I really enjoyed the twists and turns, and the main character was funny in a healing kind of way. Great under-read book.

(In many ways, I was reminded of Sandman Slim, another well-received urban fantasy that didn't do much for me.)I'm certainly willing to give the author a second try, as the lacks in this book felt mainly like first-time author syndrome. less
