review 1: Pretty awesome book. I was very skeptical about the author during the Introduction and first chapter but the book came around. The book dives into what happens during the mind scientifically during 'flow' which I loved reading about. The book really got me thinking about 'flow' and when I've experienced it and how it effects me. It's really made me realize why I love rock climbing and playing music; they both put me into the state during the best of times. This book was the first time I've really learned about the subject so that may be why I really liked this book. Want to read some other books about it soon.
review 2: This is an amazing book, one of the best I have read in my life. What intrigued me the most is how he chose to focus on extreme sports athletes
... more and his reasoning for doing so, I would've liked to see more examples and applications for the business world, maybe author could do this in a future edition or a sequel, but I understand that flow is an absolute must in that world but considered an elite or top 10% requirement in the business world. In a way this is good, because based on his writing one could conclude that the bar is way too high in extreme action sports and low in other areas, so anyone in the business world that has knowingly or unknowingly achieved anything due to flow is has or will be one of the best with little competition because only so many will truly achieve flow in a non athletic environment. less
