review 1: Bound by Duty⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️This is Amelia's story. She hasn't had a great start in life, her mother died at her birth, her father didn't cope and her brother escaped the madness as soon as he could. She's so thankful for the day that she can move away and start college. Where she also finds her first, real friend, but it's not all positives, and the good start goes down hill pretty fast.Watch out for gorgeous Aidan guys. OMG. He's loyal, intense, edgy, covered in tattoos and just yummy! But we all know that looks aren't everything. And it's not going to be an easy ride if Amelia and Aidan want to be together. This was a great read. Stormy is a wonderful writer. All of the characters were well developed, I feel like I knew all them personally.Keep an eye out for the... more next book. I know I will be!!
review 2: The story itself was great and unique. I am definitely interested in the sequel. However, the writing style was lacking and there were a lot of unanswered questions, some of which I am assuming will be explained in the sequel. I also thought it was ridiculous how much everyone was lying, at some point people were lying just because they were used to it and for no other particular reason. Was there some sort of rule against telling humans and I missed that? I don't believe there were any repercussions for telling a human so lying to B and Aiden for so long seemed silly, pointless and a little mean. Also, for someone who has been lied to by everyone and is sick of it, Amelia does a lot more lying than necessary. She also keeps saying she was holding back tears, but she cries every other page. Maybe her out of whack powers make he hormonal or something. As a character I liked her more in the beginning. Although she was becoming a badass, she was also becoming an idiot. A lot of situations could have been handled a lot better by all parties involved. Aiden and Bethany were the only characters I believed acted somewhat realistically. Don't even get me started on the animages. I hope the queen will have a couple of slightly redeeming qualities so she's not just some evil entity that's so easy to hate. Despite the issues, I thought it was a creative story and once I got over the simple wiring it became an enjoyable quick read. less
