review 1: My biggest complaint on this book is that it doesn't feel like a full story. This really really feels like the beginning of a story and unfinished. It does a good job of setting up the basic characters giving them a little history and relationship dynamics. It gives us some nice sex scenes then just kind of stops. It is obvious there is going to be more to this story and it isn't like it is that long that this couldn't have continued on to complete the story. Instead it is needless broken up in yet another book. That just kind of irks me with stories that are under 100 pages broken up into multiple books. This is a decent historical story but the format leaves much to be desired.
review 2: Not sure how to rate this, since I do not usually read MM romance
... more. A well-written historical romance story/novella that is between 70-100 pgs. I had to think, if it had been a M-F HR and If I liked BDSM, what would I rate it? I think, given those 2 caveats, I would rate it 4 stars.Lord Oliver Marsden and Lord Vincent Prescott have been friends since childhood, when they attended school together. They were both second sons, ignored by their families. Vincent, however, went on to attend Cambridge and has succeeded in everything he ever set his mind to. The men have grown apart since their financial positions are quite different, but they still run into each other at White's or the odd social function. There is a brothel where Vincent has been a customer over the years. Downstairs, in view of the other customers, he would select a pretty popular blond woman, always the same one, but after they were alone, Holly would step out and a male would come in to service Vincent. One of the male whores, Cameron, also serviced Oliver, and because the male prostitute described his favorite tall, muscular, bright blue eyed domme patron to Oliver once, Oliver guessed at Vincent's identity and secret. Oliver paid the brothel owner to replace Cameron one night, in order to have sex with Vincent...it's a big risk, but he just has to have his fantasy become real just one time. There is some BDSM. less
