review 1: So disappointed, loved the earlier books but this seems written to shock it is macabre, ghoulish and gruesome. It is a shame because the character of Logan McRae was an inspirational creation but loses credibility in this book. The author is able to inject humour into the most dire situations unfortunately this time the plot is over the top. I will continue to read his books as I have number 5 ready to go.
review 2: Love Stuart MacBride's DS McRae series, just discovered him earlier this year and plan on making my way through the series. This is book four and the most creepy and graphic so far. However, love the plot twists and the development of the main characters. You can just picture them clearly in your mind with all their human failings. If you like well
... more written, gritty Scottish detective stories, this is it. less
