review 1: Cutting Loose is so complete a book. Everything from the plot to the characters, to their family relationships and relationships with friends and their jobs was so fleshed out. Above everything this book was written really well. These characters were obviously well loved, and well known by the author. That's what really made this book sparkle. Beyond that I enjoyed these characters. I didn't feel like they were remakes of other characters I've read before. They were their own people with at least somewhat unique hangups that led to the refreshing conflicts of this book. A stellar read, phenomenally plotted, and thoroughly heartfelt, sweet, funny, hot read. This book has it all.
review 2: What a mess. The premise of this story is ridiculous. Three girls befriend
... more an old lady who gives them each a diary. When she dies, the old lady leaves the mansion to the girls. Jane, one of the girls, is organizing a museum exhibition of the haute couture. Of course, she meets and instantly hates the contractor. No matter the attraction, he drinks and that’s just not ok. That, in a nutshell, is the big hang up in their relationship. That’s it. Oh, and don’t forget that the bad guy is just so bad. I don’t mean evil; I mean bad as in badly written. I have yet to figure out the purpose the diaries have in the book. less

Just not my thing I guess. I usually like Susan's books. Gave up early on this one.
