review 1: Parrots Over Puerto Rico was a great story that was very informative. The book was jammed pack with information and great historical facts. Each page had little definitions on them to help explain words to children. Vocabulary is very important for younger children and this book does a wonderful job in giving children a rich vocabulary. The illustrations are also very unique they give an amazing outlook on Parrots from Puerto Rico. This book could be used for a history class as well for children in 3rd or 4th grade.

The book is about these parrots that were living in Puerto Rico and ... moreas the country became more populated with human beings they were struggling because they were endangering their natural environment. People living in Puerto Rico started a movement to save this type of bird and keep them alive. It gives an idea to the children on how humans are allowed to protect animals. This book can be used to teach about environment, animals and the big topic of extinction and also discuss the ways in which they can help. less
