review 2: Charity Jones has just arrived in Fool's Gold, California, to start her new job as City Planner. After a childhood of moving from town to town, she immediately falls in love with all the small town has to offer. The Mayor tells her that their town has lost too many men and Charity's job is to bring the men back to the town. One man who has come back to Fool's Gold is the town's most famous resident, former world-class cyclist, Josh Golden. The mayor is trying to play matchmaker between them, but Charity has had too many romantic disasters to take a chance on Josh, even if everyone thinks he's just perfect the way he is.This is the first book in Susan Mallery's Fool's Gold series. It's a contemporary romance set in a small town. The characters were interesting but not real exciting. I liked that Josh was the town's Golden boy but had his own insecurities. The story flowed with no actual twists and turns, but it kept me interested enough to continue reading. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series since Ethan' character interested me. My rating: 4 Stars. less
