review 1: Ok, where can I find a Raoul Moreno of my own? The men of Fool's Gold? Sigh. Seriously, Raoul is too good to be true. What guy would take on triplets? Later, twins after Pia miscarries one of the babies and a 8yr old? boy. It was great to FINALLY get to read Pia's story. I knew the before and after the fact's from the other Fool's Gold book's, but it was good to FINALLY see how Pia came to be insemented with her late friend Crystal's embryo's,and how Raoul & Pia met and how Raoul and Peter came into the picture....Pia is an Ex Mean girl, who's best friend Crystal died of cancer, and left Pia her, and her late husband's (Crystal's husband, a soldier, died in Afghanistan) 3 embryo's. Unbeknownst to Pia.Enter new resident, ex Dallas Cowboy quarterback. Ex Foster kid. Raoul Mo... morereno. Who proposes to be Pia's pregnancy buddy. After she finally agrees to go through with the IVF. Even though she's terrified.I don't want to give too much more away. But Fool's Gold is the land of happily ever after's. This was one of my top favorite's. Though I love them all....I will have to read them IN ORDER once I have all the current ones.
review 2: Pia has had an unfortunate life, dad committing suicide mother abandoning her but yet in fool's gold she doesn't feel alone.The small community is like family. Raul a retired football player moves to the town and is drawn to Pia after some eventful meetings together. Pia just found out her friend Crystal who died left her three embryos. So begins this tale of Pia coming to terms with these embryos and becoming a mother and starting pregnancy buddy friendship with Raoul that eventually becomes more.very interesting read though this is part of series(didn't know when I picked it up) it can be read as a stand alone great read. less
