review 1: In this book Pam, Sandra and Marie are still struggling with the loss and deceit of Jack but are all moving on some in surprising ways. We look back to the early days of Pam and Jacks marriage and see the gaps and cracks that were overlooked at the time and read in shock at just how manipulative and conniving Jack actually was. We finally get Ashton's story which as with all rest it's an unsettling read but still compulsive.
review 2: Sigh. Sadly, yet again, we come to another conclusion in Babylon Land. The ups, the downs, the deceipt and lies, never cease. Jaw dropping revelations had me begging for more, I was glued all weekend to Prayers For The Dying. ***Spoiler Alert*** I'm still at a loss as to how Pam had the wool over her eyes for so many years. Marie ... morenever hid it well, and her children even knew. Between Jacks preferance in sexuality, I was quite appaled. Disgusted, in fact. I prayed to God Jack didn't touch his own children...and still am, thats up in the air for me. Even in death, Jack is still fucking peoples lives over. I just have an inkling that saga isnt done, especialy with the revelation of the leather, whips n chains kinky shit & "piss room" deal WTF?! And new woman, conveniently with the same last name? I just don't know. I can't decide which character stood out the most in my mind. Probably Pam, obviously, and Sandra and Marie. Sandra has grown on me, I'm seeing her in new light, as is Pam; am anxious to see where her life will lead next. It truly saddened me to read on and on of Maries decreptiness. I bawled like a baby when she passed on. I am so thankful that baby Miranda did not contract HIV, which is a miracle. I thouroughly am enjoying this series. What is next in store for the lives Jack ruined, and still is? I am rather reluctantly sad to begin Family Dynamics, the fifth and final book. Or is it?... less
