review 1: "Why is it that with every step I take toward my father, he runs a mile back?" After she finds her dead mother's ring at an estate sale, this is one of the questions that haunts Audrey Nealon's mind during the subsequent sudden upheaval of her ordinary life. What a delightful mystery! I was drawn in from page one and remained ensnared until the very end. I love to read for character and Hubbard certainly delivers as she skillfully guides her well-rounded characters through the gentle folds of this mystery with such touching realism, at times I felt as if these people were my own neighbors.Great read which can appeal to a wide audience---highly recommended!
review 2: Not a fan of this book, it wasn't a romantic thriller in fact it didn't fall into either categ
... moreory in my opinion. The book description really appealed to me, I love books that dig up the past, but this was just ridiculous. There were unnecessary characters, it was almost like there were two stories going on in one book. It felt like the author couldn't decide which direction to go in and so she chose several. If the plot isn't the best at least make the characters likable. less
