review 1: I would give this a solid 3.5. I can't really rate it a full four because it wasn't as good as her others that I have read. It took me a while to get into this one but once I crossed that threshold it was an enjoyable and fast read. As well as a slow start there were a few cringe moments that I didn't love but overall I really liked the characters and the story was interesting. I felt like she did an excellent job in dealing with death and the aftermath that those left behind deal with. My overall view of this book was that it was decent and drew me in but I probably wouldn't feel the need to read it again.
review 2: This book was utter naff and it was not particularly well written. Not that it was poorly written, it was just wasn't anything special. As far as ... morethe story goes think Dr. Quinn meets a romcom with Jesus talk thrown in. I skipped all the Jesusy bits because that part did not appeal to me. Did not see the "Christian Lit" label on this before I grabbed it at the library but oh well.That said, I couldn't put the darn thing down. Oh, and the weird sexual overtones at times felt VERY out of place. less
