review 1: I liked the first two instalments of Oak Knoll, this one was a bit too predictable and did not have enough new characters to retain interest. Also the police procedural was idealistic, with detectives going beyond the call of duty to bring arch criminals to justice, whereas in fact this doesn't happen in most police forces today. At least Anne Leone was saved the fate of previous books and I missed Vince Leone's involvement in this book.
review 2: it started off alright, then it picked up. Lauren Lawton has moved to Oak Knoll as her oldest daughter went missing and after 4 years wants a fresh start. She blames Ballencoa that she believes kidnapped her daughter years ago and doesn't know if she's alive or dead. When she is in a grocery store she sees Tony Men
... moredez a detective well respected in Oak Knoll. Finally instincts kick in and Ballencoa is spotted. Will he be caught? Is he smarter than the police force? find out in this trilogy 3 rd bookDOWN THE DARKEST ROAD. less
