The Reed Brothers
review 1: There is something about the way Ms. Falkner Rights that makes these books feel real, like I'm reading a true, genuine story. The Reed brothers are sweet and nurturing but not in a corny way. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy this particular book as much as the first two because at several times it felt like I was reading young adult material with some hot sex scenes sprinkled in. The characters and their conversations were a bit more juvenile but then again, this was about the youngest Reed brother. I listened to this and all of the series on audiobook which also may have impacted my opinion of the third book since the same narrator read all 3 books. Since I had already associate the narrator's voice with Emily, it kind of threw me off hearing the same voice speaking as a ne... morew female character. Overall, this book is a warm, touching love story. The Reed brothers are the only books I have read by Ms. Falknerband despite not. Although I did not fall in absolute love with this book, there is something about Ms. Falkners's writing that keeps bringing me back for more!
review 2: Peter Reed is fresh out of jail, fresh out of excuses, and ready for a brand new start. Reagan Caster needs to thank Pete for an act of kindness, but he wants more than just her thanks. We got to know Pete Reed a little in the first couple books which deal with Logan and Emily. He is one of the youngest brothers, along with his twin, Sam. In an attempt to help out his family financially while they're dealing with Matt's cancer, Pete makes a bad choice which lands him in jail for two years.Reagan Carter has lived a very sheltered life since a dark night two years ago that completely changed her. The only shining light from the traumatic event is Pete Reed. Reagan never saw Pete again after that night but she has kept tabs on him and had her lawyer father help him out. Now that Pete is out of jail, Reagan wants to talk with him and thank him for what he did for her that fateful night. She convinces her father to get Pete to come and help out at the special needs camp that her family runs for children and teens. For Pete, Reagan is his second chance at life. For Reagan, Pete is the one that inspires her to open up and bring down her walls. I really enjoyed seeing all the Reed brothers again and meeting some of the boys at the camp like Gonzo and Edward who are now entrenched in Pete's life. less

This story is centered around Pete Reed. Part of the youngest brothers that make up the twins in the family. He was sent to prison for two years after hanging around with the wrong crowd, along with his twin Sam, when they were trying to make extra money for their older brother's cancer treatment. Pete got caught, Sam didn't. They used to be as close as twins can be, but guilt and anger separated them during Pete's time away. All five of the brothers are usually very close, so this definitely causes some upset in the family. As Pete is leaving prison, he is offered a shorter probation, if he decides to be a part of a special camp for a week. The camp caters to disabled and unfortunate kids and also has other helpers, that include older kids on the wrong track, those from detention centers who all could use Pete's help. Pete may look like a hard pass, with all his tattoos and piercings, but he's got a heart of gold. Plus since his older brother Lucus has been deaf since 13, he knows sign language. They know he can be a real asset to all the camp members, if he chooses to.(Will finish review soon)

Somehow this book got into my skin slowly. It was funny, and so sweet and heartwarming (?) We got to know a mature part of Pete, and it teaches you that sometime you gotta take bad decision in order to learn the lessons of life, and that those lessons can make us go to a even better place. What I loved from Reagan is that she suffered something that I've been lucky I've never experienced. For sure I don't know how it feels (and I'm not asking, btw) but I admire the strength she has to get out of that nightmare. It inspired me. The only thing I didn't like is that I don't think that getting out of that nightmare would be that easy. But the rest of the book was beautiful for me ;)
