review 1: The chance encounter of Jake and Roan while they are hiding from their problems and seeking solace in a hotel bar leaves one questioning everything he has ever known and the other wanting something that is so far out of reach that heartbreak would be easier to obtain. I just loved Roan! He is such an easy man for anyone (with the exception of Jake) to easily and quickly realize that they love everything about him. All he wants is to share his home, life, and love with someone who will reciprocate unconditionally. He is tired of no one seeing him as a person. All people see of Roan is the beyond gorgeous supermodel, a pretty object. This quote from Laney best describes what is going on with Jake.“Wow. Your love life is so complicated, it make my lack of love life seem pos... moreitively restful.” Jake is confused about life, not just his love life. The fix to his love life is could easily be accomplished if her would just be honest with himself and those around him. Jake not only creates many of his own problems but he manages to complicate them. This made him such a delight to read. He is that wreck that you see happening, there is nothing that you can do to stop it, but you just have to watch it. I feel conflicted by how the The Scientist and the Supermodel ends with the gearing up for the next book. I am well and happy with the happily ever after that Roan and Jake have. From reading the synopsis of the next book in the series and the end of this one I can see that they will get an addition to their happy. I’m not sure how I feel about that thus I’m not sure if I will move on with the series. I will definitely read more books by Tara.
review 2: I love Tara Lain, but I avoided this series of hers for a while because it's mmf menage. I finally broke down and read this first book in the series because I needed a mmf book for a challenge.I'm happy it was this one, because I enjoyed Tara's writing just as much here. I loved Jake and Roan and the extended family. In this book, there's only one brief mmf menage encounter and it was mostly about the mm relationship. However, I probably won't read more in the series because it looks like future books are more menage oriented and, as much as I love these characters, I just can't deal with them being with a 3rd person, particularly a woman. less
