review 1: I really enjoy the Courtney Crumrin stories, but this one felt off. The story was more fragmented and difficult to follow. I think I also may have missed an installment since I was at the mercy of what was available through my library system. But I haven't had trouble with any of the others. The ending was particularly confusing and I was left feeling rather dissatisfied. I would probably give this a 2.5 stars - Not really a 3, but not as low as a 2.
review 2: Naifeh's art is just gorgeous. There is no way around it. If you're into faeries and/or creepy things, then there aren't many others working in today's art scene that give them as frightening and beautiful of a treatment as Naifeh does. The story is a bit weak--feeling as if it is missing a scene or two. (
... morePerhaps it would work better if I had read the earlier installations.) Regardless, the elements are in place for some fantastic artwork and interesting ideas. less

This one felt rushed and kind of all over the place. Still good, and that final panel was a doozy.

I still love this series but this particular volume needed a little more backstory for me.

another great installment in this all-ages series that treats its audience with maturity.
