The Game is Life
review 1: Easy & entertaining read. This is the 3rd book in Schott's "The Game" series. These books are written with very elementary vocabulary, some embedded 'life lessons' that are a bit too obvious, and some typo/punctuation problems that can be distracting. That said, I think the story is interesting, engaging, and fun. (As evidenced by the fact that I'm about to read book 4.) Quick reads; one could easily finish each book in 4 or 5 hours. Genre: Sci Fi/ Fiction. Recommended!
review 2: Amazing book, Great Series. If you love stories with mind bending complexities, endearing characters, and that run the gamut of emotions than I highly recommend this series. This is the third book of a four book series. Each book builds upon the foundation of the previous ones and
... moreso I strongly encourage you to read them in order. If you have read the first two, then it might help to know that this story will not mention Danielle or Trew (Zack). Instead the story jumps back to explain the (full) life of Brandon from age two until the very last scene of book two, Digital Heretic. It answers many of the lingering questions about the game, it's creation, creator, and "who" is Brandon's father. While providing many previously unexplained details, it left me with a whole new set of questions. The emotional intensity is cranked up big time in this one. So much so that I was moved to tears of sorrow, compassion and satisfaction. Note: there are torture scenes that were difficult for me to read. I was able to skim over them without any major skips in the story line.Due to that content, I now add a cautionary warning for readers who may be sensitive to violence and to young adult readers. With that caution in place, I recommend this title (series) to readers of Dystopian, Action and Science Fiction genres. less
