review 1: I guess we wish we could escape our lives every now and again. the only question I have is why did it take her so flamin long. I sure as hell wouldn't put up with him for 15 years but then again if she castrated him before she married him, she got what she deserved in some ways. again dysfunctionality rears its ugly head again!!! good read, not read any of her other books but would now give them a go.
review 2: I gave this two stars largely because of the graphic language and the graphic bedroom scene in the early chapters, which completely turned me off Ned. I also skipped through the chapter on Guy's bullying experiences. However I stuck with the book and whizzed through to the end because the overall theme appealed to me and I wanted to see how it tu
... morerned out. I felt sorry for the children Agness and Guy. For me the best character in the book was Agness and the way she developed from being a stroppy teenager. Otherwise I lost sympathy with both Kate and Ned and could not relate to the apparent "all happy" ending. I wondered what happened next? Did their marriage survive? How did they manage their financial situation? Did Kate become less controlling and Ned more supportive? I am not too sure I would read a sequel, though. less
