review 1: I wanted to give this book 4 stars but I'm not really satisfied with how it ended so it's getting 3 instead. This story doesn't really conform to the ways most shifters tales are. The story spans about three days and in that time period Mal and Zach wake up to find they're chained together, they don't know why they were kidnapped, they're being terrorized by their kidnappers periodically, feelings are developing between Mal and Zach and last but not least Zach is given the truth of what is suppose to occur on the full moon. When Mal finds out he's not happy but there's not much he can do but make promises to Zach.Overall a very enjoyable read and there were moments where I was tearing up while getting Zach's backstory. Also, there was the desperation between Mal and Zach a... moret the moment of truth that had me almost in tears too and so desperate for Mal to try to keep his promise. I would love to see a sequel t this story since it's brought up some questions about the werewolves.
review 2: This book had a few interesting twists on shifters. It wasn't romanticized the way other shifter books are with the "mates" that you would die before you hurt. I would say that the book was too short and that the ending left me feeling a little incomplete and wanting. It was more of a free download prologue book in my opinion. One that would definitely whet my appetite to buy all the rest of the books in the series. But as a standalone book it was a little light. If there was a sequel, I would definitely read it because I didn't get my HEA. less
