review 1: Maya is walking in the forest surrounding her new home when she comes across a body, then another, and then a shadow. She comes to and the police come but the bodies have gone. She wakes up in The Rowan Tree, the hotel that her parents have taken on, and tried to adjust to being the new kid in the village. But a fox keeps appearing, strange things keep happening in the hotel and there are others in the forest, a wild girl called Bonny and her mute companion Mo, a threatening violent boy Zep and visions and dreams. A thrilling dark ride, well written and spine tingling.
review 2: This book was very suspenceful! I might read another book by him it depends on if its suspenceful or not if its like this one then of course! I didn't like the part where Maya stare
... mores at a body and then looks away for a second and the head faces the other way it sent chills down my spine! I think it's weird when Maya does not remember why she was in the forest. I loved the part were she saw fox eyes she said she thought it was something scary like a dark spirit. It was awesome! less
