review 1: I actually really enjoyed the movie, which is surprising, because I don't typically enjoy slasher-type movies. I enjoy being scared while watching a movie, but not horrified. I don't like gore very much. But this movie was pretty damn entertaining - it was scary but I also laughed my ass off at one point (Curt's death) and I loved Marty. So because I enjoyed the movie so much I'm looking forward to reading this book. :)
review 2: While this is a faithful adaptation of the film and provided us with some additional insight into some of the characters, overall it was disappointing. The pacing is much too slow with the result that much of the humor & horror of the screen doesn't translate to the page. It's also (at least the nook edition) riddled with typos and
... morepoorly attributed dialogue that threw me right out of the story. The final straw for me was when "Judah" suddenly became "Jonah." There's no excuse for that lack of/poor quality of editing. I loved the film and have enjoyed other books by the author and was expecting much better, even for a media tie-in. Do yourself a favor--watch the movie and give the book a pass. less

The Cabin in the Woods was everything I didn't expect it to be. But, it was entertaining anyhow:)
