review 1: This volume includes issues 6 to 11 of the series and oooooooo is it getting good. Seeley ramps the story up brilliantly with more of the 'revivers' coming to light and throwing in religious zealots, politics and black market dealings into the mix. We also get treated to the darker side of the 'revivers' and find that they are capable of much more than just coming back to life which adds even more to the stress, forboding and general sense of panic that takes over the town. Like the Walking Dead, this offers a bit of interesting commentary on society as well as giving the reader a good bit of gore and horror, which is why I loved that series so much and is probably why I'm enjoying this one too. Can't wait to get stuck into the next one!
review 2: Couldn't
... morefinish it, though I let this volume decide if I was sticking with the series or not. I couldn't deal with the thinly written characters, the ends of each issue that are suppose to be some sort of thrilling cliffhanger that don't seem to truly matter that much, and the addition of subplots that just overstuff the series without allowing the pre-existing plots to evolve and lead the main concept of the revivers in any direction. less

More like a 3.5, but not quite a 4.
