review 1: 4.5 stars! I really enjoyed this book! Isabel and Griffin are a great couple and their story had me hooked from the first pages. The chemistry between them was incredible, but not only that, it was believable. For me, it was made even stronger by their developing relationship. I love novels where the sexual tension is not just about physical attraction but about two minds and personalities colliding!However, for me, the strongest aspect of this novel was its emotional depth. We grow to understand both the hero and heroine as fully faceted individuals. We learn what has made Isabel so strong, yet so fatalistic, we also learn why Griff has become so hard and callous. Their love is a redeeming force for them both. The twists and turns of the plot kept me glued to the story.Th... moreat said, the final chapters were not as powerful as I'd hoped for (hence 4.5 rather than 5 stars). After a great start and middle, I was expecting an equally unforgettable ending. However, it felt like a bit of an anti-climax. Maybe, this was because there was a major 'twist' near the end of the story, which is what effectively allows the lovers to be together. It made me feel that neither of them had enough of a hand in their final destiny... Yet, despite this minor flaw, I thought this story was a real keeper. This is the first novel I've read of this author and I will be looking for others!
review 2: This was a different spin to what Lara normally writes but i still found it absolutely amazing. I was draw into ever chapter just like her midnight breed series. Its defiantly a must read in my book!Merged review:So I just finished this book and it was amzing. It has it all from the knight that's finding himself, to a kidnapping, a strong stuborn women, with earls and kings and a plot twist that will have you giggling and screaming at our book. This trully is a wonderful romance book that I can read again and again. You can find me at the store picking up book two. It is defanitly a MUST read!!! You won't be disappointed, I no I was not that is why I gave it a 5 out of 5. less
