review 1: I'm getting more and more disappointed that this is going to be the last arc of Bleach. Nothing but boring and endless fight scenes. Ichigo is trapped and for some reason the Quincies fear him (which annoys me since it elevates Ichigo to Mary Sue levels more than usual). Most of it was about Byakuya (who was almost vaguely interesting based on the outcome of his fight), Kenpachi and Yamamoto. In fact almost half is Yamamoto's battle with an apparently Quincy leader he knew 1000 years ago. Wait? Aren't the Quincies human? Then I realize, I don't really care. Obviously I'm going to finish out the series but this is just not a fitting ending to the series, IMO.
review 2: With Ichigo trapped between dimensions, it is up to the General and the Captains to face down
... morethe Quincies. This volume really focuses on the General, and it provides some excellent pathos with him facing down the quincy who killed his assistant. But there are some unclear moments early in the volume and too much is left to do Yamamoto Bankai porn.Still, an entertaining volume, just not a great one. less
