review 1: Plot twists!! Plot twists and blood shed!! SO MUCH BLOOD SHED!! Or maybe just dramatic slicing and delayed blood that really wasn't shown in any panels. :/I REALLY should have suspected this at the end of the last volume. I really should have. But I didn't, and yet once again my mind was blown by slightly cliche and depressing plot twists. One more thing before I get into what actually happened; how in the world am I supposed to pronounce the name "Yhwach?" I mean seriously? Out of all the crazy names in this entire series, (also including Haschwalth), and all the bizarre names you could choose, why did it have to be Yhwach? I've been saying it as "Wach", and "Yawak", but I am almost certain both of those pronunciations are incorrect. Even Genryûsai Shigekuni Yamamoto is e... moreasier to say than Yhwach!*Sigh*. Well either way, this volume started off more... Interesting, in a completely strange way. Not even related to where we left off, but yet completely involved, we see the past of two brothers, Loyd and Royd. I believe one was killed by Kenpachi, but the other was pretending to be Yhwach the whole time to let the real one meet Aizen. After using much of his power, and having his Bankai stolen from him, (turns out his was steal-able the whole time), he is left with no defense and is slice directly in half. There really wasn't blood, which probably caught me off guard the most. Just looking at the next page and seeing Yamamoto's torso and down standing there and his upper half falling to the ground, (in obvious epic slow motion), I was almost terrified to turn the page. Yes, I guess I do have to admit that I like seeing characters die every once in a while (no I am not sadistic) but when it is a character I actually LIKE, my brain almost has a mini eruption and I am stunned for a couple moments. People watching me read Bleach, be warned, for once I read of a character's death like Yamamoto's an indescribable expression overcomes my face. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.It made me so sad on page 42, panel one. Just seeing the ruins left of majority of the Seireitei makes me feel not angry, but just depressed. I guess I'm not angry because I know there's nothing they really could do to stop it. They did all they could, and yet the buildings of comfort that used to stand are all rubble. Ichigo breaks out of the force field, and since he fought a Quincy, his spiritual energy "remembered apart of itself", and gave Ichigo the ability of Blut Vene. I'm extremely curious to see why Yhwach is so interested in keeping Ichigo alive, but if it ends up that he is Ichigo's real father, this is going to be my exact reaction:-_- "Why. Why are you quoting Star Wars?"Hopefully it won't end so cliche, but you never know with Bleach. (Lol does that even make sense to call Bleach cliche and unpredictable in the same sentence?)Ichigo's mother was possibly a Quincy, or at least that's what I was thinking. Ichigo didn't get to do much of the help he had planned on, and his Bankai was cut in half, permanently damaging it, (that is if he can fix it).Byakuya, Rukia, and Renji all make it, but Yamamoto was killed for sure (
review 2: This is a turning point in the Story! After Aizen, there was no clear enemie, and with the Quincies return there is now a great threat. This volume only confirmes what I've always thought, Gotei 13 is weaker than we think, even considering many of them are holding back. And finally, a new level of power has been set, and Quincies objectives are still to be revealed.Tite kubo seems to have been setting a lot of things from the beginning. This is a pause on the war and the turning point mostly in terms of power. less
