review 1: I just finished reading Bleach volume 51. The story is really not that much different from the historic story line. Ichigo has no real power at least not at the level of those around him. He has to train, train, train and train or he will die again. He is surrounded by weird acting, weird looking yet very dangerous people. They all go along assuming that Ichigo knows what is going on which is annoying as we already went through that story with the Soul Society. At least with this story we the readers are seeing some of the back story and some of the stories not centered on Ichigo. I am still interested in seeing where this all goes as long as I can borrow a copy of the book from a friend or the library because I would not pay full book prices for black and white rep... morerints – if I was going to pay full price I would subscribe to the magazine.
review 2: The Fullbringer Saga/Arc of the manga is something I have been fully enjoying. And, I especially love that Riruka is on the cover of this volume, since I have some mad love for that character.---------------- When Riruka isn't granted the negative attention that she requires to function, she shuns Ichigo, and refuses to watch his training, but is still kinda curious as to why he is so willing to train today. Ichigo wants only to help his friends, and he feels that training and getting back his powers in the only way that he can completely protect them. So, that becomes his main goal in life. He will do whatever it takes. But, unbeknownst to him, Tsukishima is already moving in on his friends, and turning them away from him. Needless to say, Ichigo does indeed go after Tsukishima when he awakens his Fullbringer power. That's not the best thing he could have done, but he follows his heart more often than his mind. But, sometimes, the body cannot hold up to what the heart wants it to do, and that is his case here. He's still not strong enough to battle, but he will be soon. More training takes place, in a videogame type of setting, and Orihime is brought in to heal him during the battle. But, she is also brought because they are starting to realize that Ichigo trains best under pressure. When he needs to protect someone special near to him, he always comes through for them.------------- And, the scenes where Riruka seems slightly jealous of Orihime are pure joy. Riruka has had a mad crush on Ichigo since she first saw him, and she's crazy-jealous of Orihime, because she is so close to him.-----------------------------------------This volume was provided to me by VIZ Media via Edelweiss as an eARC/DRC, in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed here are my own.------------------------------------------ less
