review 1: I recently came across this author and have read all five of the Sean O'Brien books. The characters are well written and the story is good. The story opens with the discovery of an old world war 2 submarine and moves into the murder of a US serviceman which Sean O'Brien solves several decades later. Tom weaves different stories into the main plot and brings it all together in a very enjoyable way.
review 2: I'd actually give it 3.5 stars. The plot kept me reading. A lot of the details were far fetched but it was fascinating enough to willingly suspend disbelief ( though, really, all the important characters, even the 1945 characters, conveniently still living in a relatively small area in FL was a bit much). ... moreept out of harm's way. The predictable blood baths were not so graphic that my ridiculous sensitivities couldn't stomach them. It was an enjoyable book, and the characters had some depth. I think I'll try another Sean O'Brian book. less
