review 1: I really enjoyed this book, but it was Part 3 of the book where the best part of the the whole story got really good and interesting that's when I started to be really drawn into the story. I was deeply surprised by the ending, that I didn't expect L.A's life to change as radically as it did. Reading about her she almost seemed like she could overcome her traumatic events and take control over her llfe with the help of those closest to her but she let it go down hill.
review 2: I loved this. Tom Wright uses first person to tell this story of Biscuit, or James, and his summer with his cousin L.A. and his other friends. There is a killer in the community, and L.A. has secrets that she will not share, and Biscuit struggles to understand the female mind, support ... moreL.A., love Diane, and protect himself, his Gram, and L.A. against the various threats from family and the unknown. Wright's descriptive prose hooked me just as much as the story did. less
