review 1: In book 4 of her Magic series, Tracy Madison introduces us to Julia Collins and gives Scot Raymond his chance at finding his soul mate. The problem is, Julia doesn't believe in soul mates. That, however, doesn't stop Verda, Scot's grandmother, from doing her best to make sure these two seemingly mismatched people find true love with each other. With a little dose of the Raymond family magic, Julia find her no-nonsense, straight-laced world turned upside down. And what fun that is for us to read about! Once again, Tracy Madison gives us a light-hearted, romantic story that I couldn't put down. I sure hope she continues with this series, as there are a few characters we've been introduced to in previous stories who'd I think would make great characters in their own books. **... moreKindle formatting is very good**
review 2: Tracy Madison writes sweet, believable romance. In By Magic Alone she continues the story of the gypsy magic past down through the generations first held by Miranda (the great-great-great grandmother ghost), by following Scot as his grandmother Verna tries to find his soulmate through a dating service.Something is drawing Julia Collins to Magical Matchups, a new and competing dating service, run by Verna. Only a few minutes after Verna and Julia's odd, magic induced meeting, Verna introduces "the man Julia will marry" aka Scot. The problem? Scot is Julia's best friend's ex. This relationship seems doomed to failure, but somehow Scot manages to convince Julia to psuedo "date" him so he has time to dissuade Verna that she is his soulmate. Of course, gypsy magic will not be denied, especially when Verna bestows it onto Julia. With all the miss cast spells, jealous ex's, betrayed best freinds and crumbling of Julia's carreer, can Scot and Julia find a happily ever after?I find myself more and more interested in the simple way Tracy Madison spins her stories. They aren't complicated, but they do deal with the complications of life with a little added magic. A great read! less
