review 1: It's light, predictable fluff with a touch of magic and romance. That's what I expected so I ended up enjoying the book. If you are looking for deep characters who go through massive character development you might be disappointed. Though the heroine does grow and become a stronger women, the other characters pretty much remain flat.I am not a big fan of the term "chick-lit", but, as another review pointed out, this is "chick-lit with a little romance" and not a purely romantic novel. But still enjoyable for what it was.
review 2: A Taste of Magic is funny! This story is just fun, you'll fall in love with Elizabeth and her Granny. Granny Verda gives Liz the gift of magic on her 35th Birthday! What a gift but with that gift comes the learning curve and al... morel that can wonky when your fiddling in other peoples lives and casting spells. Elizabeth is not only learning the gift of magic she has several family troubles, Grandma moves in with her, and man issues. An ex husband she wants in the past and two new relationships on the horizon. A Taste of Magic is a cute romantic comedy. less
