review 1: A solid book which I read in a weekend. Since it's cowritten with Peter Moore of Men's Health, it's consistent with their other books as well as Superfoods. The author advocates offers a series of small choices one can make and would like you to choose 3 of them. ie: always eat breakfast, watch less tv , eat fruit before every meal and don't drink sugary drinks etc. Fun Fact: We make 200 decisions daily which impacts our weight......
review 2: I suppose it's only fair to disclose the fact that I adore Dr. Travis Stork, that I tune into The Doctors daily just to see him, and that I DVR'd and kept an episode where he lifted his shirt to reveal his abs. Delicious.Moving on...referring to the "abs episode" I mentioned, it was dedicated entirely to the ideas revea
... moreled in this book. So I decided to check out the book and see if it read as well as it sounded from his tasty mouth. It did. Truly, it makes sense. And I appreciate the fact that he doesn't really want it to be a diet but rather a healthy lifestyle. What got me interested in weight-loss: During my pregnancy for my now nearly 4 year old daughter, I put on an absurd amount of weight. Even worse, I justified the extra weight I carried by saying, "I just had a baby," until last summer. Honestly, I didn't look good and I didn't feel good. I never felt like doing anything. But, finally, it was actually my husband's need for weight loss that got me more interested. He saw his doctor for concerns about high blood pressure, and the doctor said he needed to lose 50-70 pounds. We're in our 30's, so it was shocking, but I took it very seriously. I created menus for us and decided that we'd both start losing weight. My husband works long hours and moves throughout the day regularly, but I work from home and realized I needed to become more active. So I started walking and eventually started running, and now I'm even planning to run a half marathon next month with two of my sisters. My husband has lost weight and so have I, so overall it has been a success. So why am I now interested in this? I'll tell you - it's been about 7 months since I started running, and I've only lost 20 pounds. I know that's awesome, and I'm really proud of it. But I run 20-25 miles per week and still have unattractive belly-fat. I'm ready to get rid of it, and this is a plan that not only sounds reasonable - it also sounds healthy and delicious.Well written and nicely organized. less
