review 1: Loved this one. Tchividjian shines rotisserie lighting on the relationship between law and grace. His perspective allowed me to view a difficult (and often misunderstood) subject from all sides in a way I'd never done before. Days later, the ideas still ruminate in my head . I take a great deal away from this important read. The overall content asks, what do you believe about God? My thought was/is ... what if what you sincerely believe is also sincerely wrong? Maybe God isn't who you think he is. A valuable question. I very much recommend One Way Love.
review 2: Excellent piece on grace and the core of Christianity. Brilliant and radical. Pretty much summed up on the last page's quote by Robert Capon : "Everything religion tried (and failed) to do has been pe... morerfectly done, once and for all, by Jesus in his death and resurrection. For Christians, therefore, the entire religion shop has been closed, boarded up and forgotten. The church is not in the religion business. It never has been and it never will be, in spite of all the ecclesiastical turkeys through two thousand years who have acted as if religion was their stock in trade. The church, instead, is in the Gospel-proclaiming business.... It is here, in short for no religious purpose at all, only to announce the Gospel of free grace." less
