review 1: Artful, playful, mapping of mind to world, city to soul. In Flying Home, the essay reimagines Aztec waters shaping the city, the smashed pear seen from airplane above, rather than Big Apple. The Velo Manifesto offers a template for urban wandering that cocoons the explorer in a two-wheeled gait that is body-based but transcends the crowd. Ideal speed of comprehension is on the bicycle which lifts observation above plod but prevents whiz-by of car, allowing the desired fleetness and anonymity of the flaneuse she so proudly is. review 2: Tiene cosas interesantes, pero por momentos sentí... more un esfuerzo más grande por parte de la autora en vanagloriarse de los lugares que ha visitado, los logros que ha acumulado, los autores que ha leído, las palabras "raras" que conoce y que sabe usar (...), eso provocó en mí que al momento de estar leyendo el libro, por momentos estuviera intentando más pensar en eso, que en lo que decía el relato. less
