review 1: This book has the whole crew back in a haunted castle, where they should be pretty comfortable by now. There's an entire wing haunted by a malevolent widow, so the scaring is good when its happening, but much of the story is claimed by human drama. Battered women and flamboyantly gay men factor into the plot at differing points, and the ending is a bit Scooby Doo what with humans and ghosts dividing up responsibility for the castles various mysteries, but all in all its still an enjoyably creepy read.
review 2: As always Victoria Laurie spun a mystery that kept me guessing the who done it and why. This, the 7th book in the series, was much like the others in the Ghost Hunters mysterys. The Grim Widow and her demon were just a tad less scary for me than the wit... morechs just a novel previous to this release. I loved the idea of a chance romance for another character while keeping MJ & Heath strong. Gopher truly annoyed me and if MJ doesnt get a chance to smack "the brass" other wise known as Chris in the next few books I may have a fit. The only slight problem I had with this book was the constant gopher mini meltdowns and it almost seemed those parts were just writen as space filler. Other wise, solid story as always. Love the series and Characters. And looking ahead, I cant wait to see if things heat up when Dr. Steven re-enters the scene! less
