review 2: I just read a Christmas book over the summer. Clearly, I'm quite the classy individual. I actually
... more very much enjoyed this book, more so than I thought I would. The thing is, I really loved a Dog's Purpose and a Dog's Journey, but seeing as this was a Christmas book and was not related to either of them, I was slightly deterred.Though, they do say don't judge a book by it's cover.I was pleasantly surprised by the characters in this book, I enjoyed basically everybody, even the smaller characters like Janette. Josh was a confusing and sometimes an unrealistic character, like how he made a huge deal of not being over Amanda but started trying to date Kerri the second they met, it wasn't a huge thing, though. Sometimes he would change his mind over strange things he seemed kind of determined about, and that could be odd, but I still liked him as a character over-all. Kerri was kind of stereotypical, but I still kind of liked her? She was entertaining despite being predictable. Amanda was hated, as she should've been. She just kept getting in the way. I was really happy about how she ended up at the end, because I had been waiting for something like that the entire book. The dogs were dogs, but after getting so invested in a Dog's Purpose and a Dog's Journey it seemed like they were slightly flat? They acted like real dogs and stuff, just after learning so much about the characters in those books made these dogs seem kind of boring to me.Sometimes the book did seem a bit two-dimensional, and that's the best reason to why I gave this novel four stars, but to defend that I think this was supposed to be a short, light read, and in conclusion the author probably didn't have the time to set these characters and the setting up too well. So I'm probably just overreacting. Overall, this book was very satisfying to read. It took away from all the sadness of the normal books I read these days. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys light reads where you don't have to do so much thinking, and one that has a happy-go-lucky ending.Maybe you should wait until Christmas to read this one, but if you have the time at one point try picking it up!Happy reading,Caroline less

Quick and SUPER easy read. But I wish it was from the perspective of the dogs, like his other books!
