review 1: I have to start off by saying that i'm not much of a reader. I normally can't get into books like I did with this one. I thought that I would just read the first couple pages then be done. I was completely wrong. I could not stop reading. It was easy for me to relate to Darius because I too have prodlems at home. And Twig reminds me of my younger brother. I am looking forward to reading more of his books.
review 2: Myers brings the reader into two worlds of New York City working poor, and working class Teens, one where teens have passion for something and one where teens enjoy letting the world know they don't give a F___. These world collide in violence, and guns. For me Myers is an American writer who can as easily illustrate the greatness in America and als... moreo the systems that fail all of us and our children. less
