review 1: I think this was intended for the YA market--it wasn't interesting enough for me. It started off with this girl in an amazing predicament and how she managed to rescue herself using her incredible thinking skills, then goes back to tell the story of how she got those skills. But the story never connects back to the first chapter or goes beyond it. So is there supposed to be a sequel, or is the book editor an idiot. You make the call.
review 2: This was such a fascinating concept. So cool! However, I had to give it three stars because at times the technical jargon could be a bit convoluted. Granted, Greatshell certainly knows his stuff! It was amazing how everything flowed together.Naturally, when reading this novel we can definitely see the author's attack
... moreon current society's shallowness and selfishness, but this old theme was entirely rebooted. Imagine, people being slaves to consumerism because of an actual imprint in the brain! It shaded the story nicely.Word to the wise: read the prologue after the actual story. Seriously. Skip it in the beginning and then read it at the end. Everything will make much more sense (even if it is slightly depressing). All the same, it was a very engrossing read. Thanks, Goodreads first-reads! less

One crazy read, with more twists and turns than I expected...or even predicted.
