review 1: The book, “The Candymakers” was a mystery about four kids. These four kids were chosen to compete in a competition for who could invent the best candy. This story is told from the point of views of four kids named, Daisy, Miles, Philip ,and Logan. I absolutely loved this book. I think this was one of the best books I have ever read. I wouldn’t even hesitate to give this five stars. I would read this book over and over again. I think this book is appropriate for 6th through 12th graders. But, when I first heard about this book a way a little intimidated because of how big it is and how little the font was but once I got going I couldn’t stop.
review 2: This book is a mystery in itself. There are 4 main characters in this book. There names are Logan,
... more Daisy, Miles, and Philip. The characters all bring out different traits in each other. They highlight the different aspects of each other lives and make the story interesting. The book tells the story of friendships and show you how they bond and progress over a certain amount of time, Which is a very important theme or value in life. The story is very interesting and is a page turner for the mysterious. This book was one of my favorites and I would give it a 4.5 if I could but I give it a four to balance it out. I gave it this score because at some points in the story you get confused because you are hearing the story in 4 different points if view at random times in the story so it kind of jumps around, which I find very confusing and sometimes annoying but If you see past that the plot and character bonds are very cute and challenging. I recommend this book for people who like adventure books with a hint of mystery, or in other words sweet and mysterious. The details in this story are perfect. They are not jam packed on a page, they are spread out very evenly and make it more enjoyable for the reader. For example the story takes place at a candy factory named Life is Sweet, they have hundreds of different rooms for candy making. The author describes the candies so well that you can almost taste them in your mouth and the you feel like you are in the rooms yourself. This is why Wendy Mass is my favorite author and why I read this book in the first place. I enjoyed this book very much just like all of her books. less
