review 1: another manga review, then? Okie-dokie. Well, if you are in the anime/manga fandom such as I, you either have heard of this and never read it or you have read it and loved/hated it. If you've never heard of it, you should hear of it. I started out watching the anime, and to be honest, it doesn't really matter which you start with. It does, however, get confusing when you realize half of what happens in the anime adaptation doesn't happen in the manga (there are three seasons, in case you didn't know) and it just depends. I, personally, love the second season even though it wasn't actually part if the original story in the manga, but it just depends on how you are. Back onto the topic of the manga. The manga, without associating it with the anime, was amazing in itself. I l... moreove the art style and the Gothic themes, as well as the silliness added in by the servants (Finny tho). If you love manga or want to get into and haven't read this, I highly recommend it. Who's your favorite character, those of you who have read it? I literally can't choose between Sebastian, Ciel, and Grell. My least favorite is Claude. Oops.
review 2: How devilish. (Not sorry)Now this is a first volume that grabs attention in it's plot and characters. A young boy, head of a toy company, with a demon for a butler. As it is volume one there isn't much on the full story yet but the hints of sinister motives from ciel and sabastian often followed by sarcastic or funny outbursts from them or the other servants of the phantom hive manor make me giggle and very much want to find out more.A very gothic manga set in Victorian London, two things that go brilliantly together. A great start to a series as a whole and I'm hoping in the next few volumes we get some more clarity and more dark schemes and back story. less
