review 1: this volume is reminding me a lot of agatha Christie' s novel And Then There Were None but that's mainly because of the same mystery plot that is widely used in a series to find fun ways of portraying the characters we like: 1.someone unknowingly dies on a stormy night in a place that is practically isolated from the outside world 2.realisation of the killer being one of the guests or people around at the time. (somehow they all end up in this same room in this moment) 3. after some time passes, some else is killed and alibies are made for the people remaining. 4. some kind of communication to the outside world is attempted 5.isolation of those who are suspected or everyone stays together in a group 6.someone else is suspiciously killed 7. a deeper investigation is done b... morey searching rooms. something is found 8. a new realisation is introduced 8. someone Is wrongfully assumed to be the killer 9. tension settles as morning comes 10. a miss-use of words makes (possibly) the most perceptive character realise there is something suspicious still going on 11. two and two is put together and a twist; the true murderer is discovered along with how it was done.mind you, I haven't read Agatha Christie' s "great" novel but I am aware of what happens in stories based on her novel. This little act in black butler was just another interesting variation of the murder mystery topic. I am giving 4/5 stars because even though I enjoyed it, the story line was not original. I believe even family guy has done an episode called :"and then there were fewer" as the first episode of their 9th season. Additionally, it's the same as how a lot of well known manga use popular stories for their works. Like how Alice in wonderland is a favourite among the likes of Ouran highschool host club,Cardcaptor Sakura and Pandora hearts.
review 2: Der Manga wird nie mein Lieblingsmanga sein, aber dieser hier hat mir bisher am besten von allen gefallen, glaube ich. Die Perspektive aus der Sicht des armen Autoren ist ja echt super - ich mag den Kerl wirklich total. Und nun dieser Kriminalfall. Okay, ich muss gestehen, dass ich mir denken kann, was dahinter steckt (und Sebastian soll tot sein? Bitte, der ist doch unsterblich! :D), aber Ciels Reaktion auf Sebs Tod war trotzdem einmalig. Wie er auf die arme Leiche eingeprügelt hat, Mensch ... "Du darfst nicht tot seid! Lass das sofort, das ist ein Befehl!" - Sehr dramatisch ... Nun heißt es also, wieder bis Februar auf den nächsten Band warten. Hm ... less
