review 1: There's not much I can really say about this book. I didn't really jump in and lose myself. I just went through the motion of reading in three days. I wish I had that feeling of wanting to go back to Canada and visit Reeves with his Greek god muscles and dreamy eyes but I didn't get sucked in like I thought I would. I believed that McDonald wrote more mature books, without such juvenile "girl talk". Shit Sophomore Switch talked about fucking in a hot tub on camera! My raunchy brain couldn't function with all the giggling about boys. Was really looking forward to reading it too. Maybe her next one will improve, here we goooooo
review 2: This actually was worth staying up all night to read. I have noticed from the few Abby McDonald books I have read she has a lig... moreht sense of humor that goes in well with the plot. In Boys, Bears, and a Serious Pair of Hiking Boots I liked and at the same time was on defense about the main character, Jenna, though I did think it was good she was so dedicated to her cause but was glad when she actually realized things take a lot more than protests and I was actually glad when she met Mr.Commbs and learned what he was doing to help. I think this book was really about coming to terms with the way that things work and comprising (and I was personally glad when she decided to kick Livvy to the curb... I never really liked her). Great book and I can't wait to reccomend it to my friend! less
