review 1: I think this is a cute book for first or second graders. The plot isn't too heavy. It is about Dragons who love eating tacos, but not spicy tacos. When there is a party, they accidentally serve spicy tacos which causes the dragons to destroy the house. At the end, they help fix it. I like that it used the word 'samaritans' at the very end. Most of the vocabulary is very simple, and at the end it throws in that word which most students at that age group may not know. I don't think I would use this as a read aloud, but I think it would still be interesting enough for students to pick up on their own or for guided reading.
review 2: Dragons Love Tacos is a nonsense fictional book. This story is all about dragons having taco parties and eating tacos all day long.
... more There are some taco toppings the dragons should not eat due to substantial consequences. Unfortunately the "okay" taco toppings are mixed up with the forbidden toppings, the dragons don't realize what has happened until it is too late. I have found that kids think tacos are awesome, I bought scratch and sniff Mexican taco stickers this year and the kids went wild over them. When I read them this book they absolutely thought it was hysterical. This book can be used for writing creative/imaginative stories. It is simple enough that students would be able to create an imaginative story using this book's structure. less
