Structured in a low-key, episodic style, this never picks up into an intricate thrill ride of a spy story, but I enjoyed the protagonist Zannis and his mountain sheep dog Melissa. Too many characters, too many "missions," too many romances, too many trips, too many crises (large and small). Nonetheless, my guess is I'll give him another try (at some point). less

Furst's writing is very enjoyable. Looking back on them, though, the books seem very similar.
