review 1: One of the one star reviews for this books mentions 'blow jobs' approximately thirty-seven times. I should add that they mention them in a negative way, just to be clear. So I will warn you, if you can't handle a heroine whose sexual history is more interesting than your own, this book is not for you. Nor am I, for other reasons, maybe, so you should probably unfriend me or stop following me right now. Right. Now. If you are still reading this, then I applaud your un-small mind, and recommend this hillbilly fairy tale. I had you at hillbilly fairy tale, didn't I?
review 2: I absolutely loved this imaginative take on a widely recognized fantastical subject. The author effectively creates a world where his characters feel at home, complete with their mystical bac... morekground (which isn't known in the beginning). I would have liked a little more explanation on the workings of the main characters' traditions, laws and beliefs, but on the whole I was impressed with how well the mythical beings were translated to contemporary culture, far from their original origin. I'd like to say more, but it'd give away a lot of plot. less
