review 1: This is just..... Wow. I'm speechless everyone. Alex Scarrow, why. Just, why. I'm both sad and excited for the finale after reading this book. I have no idea how it'll end. It is just that unpredictable.. Like the end of this book. It was a lil draggy and slow at the beginning. As it progresses towards the middle of the book, it picked up pace-and fast. So fast that I couldn't sleep after putting it down. Books are supposed to be my sleeping pills before sleep, not adrenaline! But yes, it is undoubtedly the best in the series so far, and possibly one of the best sci-fi books on my list. If the finale isn't good, or if this series doesn't win an award, you and those in charge need to be personally thrown into chaos space by yours truly.
review 2: I want answers.
... more :(That sad face doesn't mean I didn't like the book, by the way. I liked it a lot, despite Sal getting on my nerves and not really digging the Adam/Maddy angle (up until the last bit, anyway). The surprise character was... ingenious. (More reading after this, yes.) And while I feel so-so about where we seem to be headed, I'm still looking forward to the last book very much. Mr. Scarrow, please surprise us. Break our minds if you have to. I've been feeling iffy about "last books" in the past years (Mockingjay/Requiem/Allegiant anyone?), but I'm holding out for this. :) less
