Precious Ramotswe's Very First Cases
review 1: Precious is a school girl who lives in Botswana in Africa. At her school there are thefts of cake. Precious decides to investigate. I loved the plot line and the fact that it had a Moral to the story. The characters were well explained. I found the character of Precious to be interesting. I didn't put this book down once the whole time I was reading it. I would definitely recommend it. Five out of five stars.
review 2: My grandson read this when he was in the third grade. We enjoyed the book together as it had enough charm to captivate the adult, but not overwhelm a younger reader. It was an excellent exposure to another culture where children were allowed to be a part of a mystery solved by someone their own age, but in almost another world. How excitin
... moreg it was to read of walking to school and looking out for leopards that might drop from the trees or snakes lurking about unseen. The little girl in the story, Precious, was not from jungle tribe that most children envision when reading about Africa. Her father was a cattleman so she was fairly wealthly, but she still slept on a mat on the floor in her home. It was enlightening to my grandson, on many levels, who enjoyed the book so much that he was asking me to find more of Precious Ramotswe's adventures. less
